Dear BPW Presidents and Members,

We are pleased to inform you that pre-registration for the 54th session of the Commission on the Status of Women 2010 is now open.

The 15th Anniversary of the Beijing Conference is an important milestone in the history of the women’s movement. UN Commission on the Status of Women will be held from 1st – 12th March in New York.

Given the significance of the CSW54 as well as 15th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women, we are expecting up to 10,000 participants attending next year’s CSW events!

Planning for the 54th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW54) is well under way and we are preparing many exciting BPW activities and events to mark our 80th birthday celebrations next year! Most of the details in terms of venue and programs are still being finalised. We will provide regular updates via the BPW International United Nations Status of Women Forum.

All accreditations for CSW54 will be handled by our UN Administrators.

Members following this procedure will be handled with priority; failing to follow this procedure may experience delays, particularly in the event that we have an overwhelming number of applications to process. Late accreditations may also risk not meeting deadline cut off times.

This is a very exciting time in the history of the women’s movement and I hope to see as many of you in my home town of New York City in what promises to be history in the making!
